The Survivor Circle Grant is a funding initiative that provides gifts of financial support to cancer support organizations in the state the American Society for Radiation Oncology holds it annual scientific meeting.
The emphasis of this initiative is to provide cancer support organizations with the funding to assist in continuing, growing or creating programs to help cancer patients, cancer survivors and their families from diagnosis through survivorship. A dedicated effort to reach all demographics of cancer patients in the city/state where the organization is located will be a key component considered in the review process. An emphasis in helping patients receiving radiation therapy is preferred, but not required.
Two grants of up to $12,500 each will be awarded.
The following items are examples of what may be funded via this RFP process:
To be eligible for funding, applicants must have a demonstrated commitment to providing support and education to cancer patients, cancer survivors, caregivers and family across a broad demographic in the city/state in which they are located.
Applicants must be located in and serve the population in the metropolitan area around the city in which ASTRO is holding its annual scientific meeting. This year we invite support groups from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut to apply. The Survivor Circle Grant applications are reviewed and approved by members of the ASTRO Board of Directors. The grant money will be awarded during the ASTRO Annual Meeting.
